Level 1 AI Assistant Instructor

Job description

Requisition JKLM-2026-AIAI1-001

Status Accepting applications

Help adults learn practical AI skills for everyday life, digital work and business tasks. Working in person alongside the lead instructor, explain and demonstrate approved AI workflows, coach hands-on practice, check understanding and provide routine technology support.

Delivery and travel In person at assigned client and community sites in South Florida. Travel to these locations and reliable, punctual attendance are required. Locations and session times vary by assignment; confirm the site, access arrangements and reporting time before each assignment.

Program coordination Designated JKLM program lead. During delivery, follow the assigned lead instructor’s session plan and instructional direction. This role has no supervisory responsibility.

Core responsibilities

Prepare the session

  • Review and practice the instructor’s approved AI exercises, prompts and expected outcomes. Confirm site access and reporting time; arrive ready to prepare before participants arrive.
  • Help arrange the room and materials, check displays and connectivity, and test the approved AI tools and learning links. Assist check-in and report access or equipment problems promptly.

Help teach practical AI

  • Demonstrate lead-approved workflows in ChatGPT, Claude or the program’s selected AI tool. Help learners define a task, add useful context, write and refine prompts, and revise the resulting output.
  • Coach individuals and small groups through approved exercises such as drafting messages, summarizing non-sensitive content, planning and everyday business tasks. Explain steps clearly and adapt the pace to adult learners.
  • Check understanding through questions and practice. Help residents repeat the workflow independently; support agreed accessibility arrangements and escalate substantive course questions to the lead.
  • Help learners check outputs for errors, unsupported claims and bias, and verify important information against reliable sources. Explain privacy limits and keep sensitive personal or client information out of practice prompts.
  • Provide routine help with account navigation, browsers, email, files and connectivity. Escalate account recovery, device repair and advanced IT issues; residents retain control of their credentials and devices.

Keep records and follow through

  • Maintain accurate attendance and assigned participation records. Distribute approved materials and help collect feedback or completed exercises using JKLM’s designated process.
  • Assist with pack-down, account sign-out and the instructor debrief. Leave the site in the agreed condition. Record recurring issues, follow-up needs and delivery time.

Qualifications and professional standards

Required capabilities

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation to assigned South Florida client and community sites, with availability to meet agreed in-person reporting times, sessions, setup and closeout commitments.
  • Confident use of computers, web browsers, email, file management, video meetings and common document or spreadsheet applications.
  • Practical, hands-on familiarity with ChatGPT, Claude or comparable AI tools, including prompt development, iterative refinement, output checking and safe handling of information.
  • Ability to explain basic AI workflows in plain language, demonstrate a prepared exercise and patiently coach adults of varied backgrounds and confidence levels.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail and close coordination with a lead instructor. Communicate delays, absences or delivery risks as soon as they are known.
  • Discretion with participant information and willingness to follow JKLM and host-site procedures.

Helpful experience

Current college enrollment or a college degree, including an associate degree, BA or BS, is preferred. Adult education, tutoring, workshop facilitation, customer training or community-program experience is helpful. Applied use of AI for everyday productivity or business tasks is useful; advanced technical credentials are not required for this role.

Professional standards

  • Represent JKLM professionally at client premises. Be courteous to participants, property staff and colleagues; follow host check-in, visitor, room-use and safety requirements. Raise concerns through the lead instructor.
  • Protect confidentiality. Use approved accounts, materials and storage; do not request or retain passwords. Residents remain in control of their accounts and personal devices.
  • Use non-sensitive practice examples. Obtain the required permission before viewing participant content, recording sessions or sharing work; report privacy or safety concerns promptly.
  • Model responsible AI use by encouraging verification of outputs and acknowledging uncertainty. Do not present AI responses as professional legal, medical or financial advice.

Scope of the assignment

Help deliver lead-approved AI instruction and routine technology support within the agreed assignment. The assistant does not independently design curriculum, replace the lead instructor, make final assessment decisions, promise services or perform software engineering, advanced IT or business-system implementation. Direct requests outside the agreed scope to the JKLM program lead.

What good performance looks like

Sessions are ready on time; residents can practice and explain the approved AI workflows; outputs and privacy risks receive appropriate checks; records are accurate; and issues are escalated early. Review performance using these observable standards and participant feedback.
